Group Classes, Obedience.

I run classes at various locations around Northampton (Grange Park, Upton, and more). These lessons are always on lead for safety, but I carry a selection of long lines for some of the more interesting training.

The courses run for six weeks, one hour at a time, and you get to learn a LOT of new skills.

I will run mixed classes as I find that at the basic level, we can crossover a lot of skills. In terms of progressions, I find that workshops are the way to go as you can pick your specific thing to work on, without all the fluff we have to include in the basic classes.

For more specific and advanced obedience, I run a ‘trainers question time’ where we can work on each individuals needs, see below for details. I also hold workshops. You can find information on those here.

Training includes...

  • Sits, downs, stands
  • Stays
  • leaves and drops
  • Recall
  • Loose lead
  • Distance work
  • Emergency stop
  • Bed/place
  • Some fun tricks
  • …And much more!

Hoopers and Dog Sports

hoopers 1

UDog sports are a LOT of fun. It mixes real world training with obedience work and agility/hoopers/scentwork to give your dog a lot of really fun and useful commands. I hold these around Northampton and create a fenced area for safety.

These courses run for between four and six weeks depending on the level (Foundation to Advanced) and are a great way to spend some time with pup while working on real world skills. The fulfilment dogs get from things like this, a job, can’t be understated. It’s a great way to engage their brains and get them used to the expectations of real life. While its taught as fun, it has a real world use for use as impule control, mental stimulation, and dealing with some reactivity and behavioural issues.

Course includes

  • Heel walking
  • recall
  • Stays
  • Place/bed
  • Back up (walk away)
  • ‘A’ frame
  • Jumps
  • tunnel work
  • see-saw
